Press & Reviews

Don’t just take our word for it! The Moregeous How To Renovate Workshop has already been reviewed by The Sunday Times, The Metro and Cheshire Life. We’re tickled pink & very grateful for the 55 five star reviews from various guests & groups who have attended and kindly took the time to let us know how much they enjoyed the day. See below!

Our reviews are super important to us. They give renovators and home lovers the confidence to spend the hard earned cash destined for ‘stuff’ on actually investing in their own knowledge and reno education. Thanks to all those who’ve taken the time to write them x

We were massively excited for 2020 but Lockdown definitely put the brakes on everyone’s plans didn’t it? We know you’ve been staying put, looking at your homes & gardens making BIG plans but now you’re itching to get started! As soon as we can, we’ll list new dates for our two workshops.

Here’s some more info on the days:

As the launch build project manager & specifier for the hit BBC series “Your Home Made Perfect”, Sian is an expert in helping home renovators navigate the confusing, stressful and sometimes overwhelmingly choppy seas of large renovations. How many decisions are there?? If you’re looking for inspiration or motivation, need help or just fancy a kick up the decision making rear, “How To Renovate” is the day for you.

Moregeous Mansions, following five years of self building, renovating and interior designing, is packed to the rafters with interior and exterior ideas. The nuts and bolts are covered here. Everything from putting in steels to clever framework, reclaiming materials, how to project manage your own build and when to call in the experts. Future proofing and insulating. How to prioritise choices and decisions, and in what order. Things you can do yourself, and what to avoid. How to live with no hot water or heating for a year or with a temporary kitchen. We look at creating built in storage with lots of examples, ensuring rooms work hard for the money you put in them, designing with awkward spaces and how to make schemes playful as well as practical. Interior design ideas abound, with useful tips on personalisation, sourcing unique buys, making trends your own and not following the herd. Affordable design, things you can DIY, mixing old and new and having fun with paint, flooring and wallpaper. Weather permitting we head outside for garden questions like pollinator friendly planting, personalising your outdoor space, how to design seating areas, creating the ultimate terrace, what paints to use and nailing exterior design on a budget.

Sustainability is, rightly, the buzzword for the future, but buying ‘new’ sustainable products can be pretty costly. Our new workshop “Getting The Treasure Tingle” covers just that, treasure. The big stuff for your build such as bricks, slates and setts, with pros & cons and things to watch out for. Lots of ideas for timber and reclamation, both out in the garden and heading indoors too. We show you how we’ve done it here, where we’ve used pre-loved & salvage, what it should cost, how difficult or easy it was, and how it looks & feels. How to use hero items to form a scheme. The element of surprise – looking at items with new eyes and reinventing them to make them your very own. And maybe most importantly, how to use salvage and reclamation with elegance and style, because very few people want their whole home to end up looking like a salvage yard.

Alongside sustainability, we all should be looking to make our homes unique and personal to us, not simply following the crowds, slavishly buying trend led items and Insta-pasting someone else’s style. Making our homes stand out from the crowd and yell “This is me!”

I’ve always used reclaimed materials, decorative salvage and unique pieces for both client design work and on my own projects, and regularly give talks on how home renovators can use these clever techniques to be unique. This approach is joyfully prevalent through Moregeous HQ so this workshop is a dedicated day for wannabe salvagers – trust me, you will leave here just wanting to go straight to a decorative salvage fair 😉

For both workshops, refreshments and a delicious lunch is included.

DATES TO BE RELEASED AS SOON AS WE ARE ALLOWED!
