Wowsers! Just had to share these amazing works of mosaic art with you today, having been following their process and creation during 2013 by our friend Amanda McCrann at Manchester Mosaics. We love her work anyway, but these really are something special, commissioned by North West developers Seddons to draw walkers through a beautiful woodland area in Oxford, they remind me of the intricate mosaic art of Greek and Roman times, given a contemporary and poetic twist. Wouldn’t it be fab if every new development had to commission something gorgeous for new residents – should be obligatory!
It’s wonderful to see craft and artistic talent so fabulously combined. Many congrats from Team Moregeous to Amanda, and of course wordsmith and poet partner Mike Garry – what a duo 🙂
Be great if they last as long as the Italian mosaic work you can still see in Pompeii & Rome, let’s hope master fitter Mark was using his strongest adhesive, 2000yrs is a very long time…
I know the mosaic below which Amanda created in the garden at one of our tenanted blocks isn’t *quite* so extravagant but it always makes us SMILE 🙂
