So excited to be blogging this event, our first foodie type pop up at Withington Baths, which many of you will know has been a community campaign close to my heart since January 2013. Many local people will be a bit surprised that there can even be such an event at a building which has been only ever used for swimming and more recently a gym, but it’s all past of a master plan to get the community used to SO much more there – if we can persuade Manchester City Council to allow a community group to run the building instead of closing it down in Spring 2015, the world is its oyster – sport, health, wellbeing, workspace, community rooms and kitchens, a cafe, creative space….. just imagine!
On Sunday July 13th, some amazing local businesses will be collaborating to create a wonderful event:
- One of Manchester’s best foodie supper club organisers, the Drunken Butcher has created a fabulous five course Summer menu and Prosecco cocktail on arrival, with of course a veggie option available too
- BBC Food & Drink presenter Kate Goodman from Reserve Wines will be on hand for wine advice, tasting & samples
- Floral arrangements by Siân at Didsbury Flower Lounge
- Truffle making and chocolates by Sarah at Cocoa Cabana, and
- Photography by JonnyDraper Photography
We very much hope you’ll join us on what’s going to be great inaugural food event, an absolute bargain at just £20: Tickets here
To give you an idea of the standard of food, I was at a preview for Something Fishy last night where the Drunken Butcher was cooking, check out some of his creations below, alongside those of Jon Fell and Bobby’s Bangers:
