Boy, was I looking forward to my tea tonight. Fresh homegrown tomatoes from our vine, still juicy in November and picked last night. Seasoned, drizzled with oil, balsamic & basil leaves, garlic cloves tucked into gaps and popped in the oven at 10am for 2hrs slow roasting to release their sweet flavours ready to accompany a chunk of rump steak. That was the plan. That was the plan until I got busy and tried to juggle too many jobs whilst getting ready for filming with Magnet Kitchens this afternoon and forgot to turn the oven off before I left the house…..
So I arrived home to this frazzled sight. Gutted. Absolutely gutted. And guilty. Oh the guilt at the waste of those beautiful tomatoes. I could cry!!
Ah well, at least filming went well. A cracking afternoon in Warrington with Norma, winner of a fantastic new fitted kitchen, how lucky is she?! I bet she won’t burn her tomatoes 😉
