The Cook Along Crew (aka Moregeous supper club host Sian & professional feeder chef Claire) came up with the idea of innovative online cookery parties – sorry… courses 😉 – to keep connected with our gang and new food lovers during Lockdown and all the 2020 challenges all of us are facing. Well, we can’t exactly welcome you to fun food events here at HQ can we?! Thus “Four Weeks To…” was born, as series of four session programs covering all types of different food and meal ideas. Full details for 2021 are imminent but we’re kicking off with a festive feast spectacular “Four Weeks To Rock A Roast”.
The Christmas course (scroll down for full details) is designed for those who might never have rustled up a full roast dinner before, or for those who have cooked one, but it was somewhat lacking on the crisp roasties, silky gravy and exciting veg front. Or maybe for those who won’t see mum this year and have to cook their own Christmas dinner – eek! Or for those who actually want to muck in and help out instead of just expecting the usual house cook to do it all. Or maybe just for someone who loves cooking but is feeling low and lonely – as many of us are – at not having our usual friends and family.
So we started selling places…. but then something wonderful happened
We’d priced the four week course at a great value £89 for seven hours chef tuition, online Zooms and course sheets but fancied giving some places away to deserving would-be cooks and also maybe getting some sponsored. This last bit…. went a bit crazy! Some lovely companies have got involved and amazingly, now, we can offer all places free. That’s free. FREE. Gratis. ALL OF THEM. So how do we get the word out, fast, came the next question?

As from last night anyone can now nominate a deserving individual, friend, relative or family on ManCon’s Instagram post HERE and be in with a chance to win them a place on this wicked course! People are already nominating so to be in with a chance, head over there quick smart!! The nomination period ends on Monday at 5pm and the course starts on Zoom on Thursday 12th Nov, see below. It’s going to be SO MUCH FUN, we promise 🙂
The sessions run on Thurs 12th, 19th & 26th Nov 6.30 – 8pm, when different components of the big Christmas meal will be cooked Live by Claire as course attendees cook along. Sian will act as host, mostly sipping wine, answering questions and making sure everyone is keeping up & happy!
The weeks are divided up as above. We’ll also give tips on prepping ahead, cooking in advance and freezing, money saving ideas and where to splurge on special ingredients to make everything that bit more Christmassy.
Then on Sunday 29th Nov 11am – 3pm we’ll have a festive extravaganza. Claire and course winners will cook a full all the trimmings roast in real time over 3hrs, in a dry run for the big day on the 25th Dec. Ok, it won’t be a dry run as there will be gravy but you know what we mean 😉 Also we don’t expect anyone to cook the full and expensive turkey so we’ll practice with a full roast chicken, and give tips and tricks for a successful turkey roast.
Inspired by the recent Marcus Rashford campaign, we will also be donating 25% of the course fees to Magic Breakfast who do such fabulous work to feed children living in food poverty.

Names drawn will be notified to those who have nominated them on Monday afternoon via DM on Instagram, with a request for the nominee’s contact details. The nominee will then be contacted on Monday evening to tell them they’ve won this fantastic prize! They’ll be sent an email with the details of the first week’s ingredients to be bought for the first Zoom session on Thursday 12th Nov 6.30pm – 8pm. Plus details of the remaining weeks.
We understand it’s now Lockdown which makes shopping a little tougher but the ingredients are pretty straightforward. Good luck!!
