Reviews: A Visit to the Vintage Fabric & Antique Textile Fair, Manchester

On those rare, beautiful, sunny Manchester Sundays, I dream of relaxing in the garden with a chilled glass of wine or going for a lovely walk by the canal, but I’m usually in B&Q, Ikea or the office. Not so today, as just two minutes from my house a friend told me about a huge hall full of goodies at the Vintage Fabric and Antique Fair, in the Armitage Centre on the Owen’s Park campus. The event is organised by The Textile Society and to say it exceeded my expectations is a massive understatement. I couldn’t believe it was on my doorstep. Dealers from all over the country and from France with the most gorgeous treasures piled high on stand after stand. Seventh heaven, photo ops galore and very VERY tempting on the purse…..

I have a feeling from the wear marks that this dressmakers dummy has been dressed and undressed a few times ;-)The fairs are also held in Liverpool, Wilmslow and Chester – please visit the Decorative Fairs web-site to find out dates for future events!
