Project Brighton – Cream Ikea & walnut kitchen

Mrs P’s tenants have moved into Project Brighton and told the letting agents their decision was swung by our newly installed kitchen and bathroom which is great news. The apartment really did needed updating and the Ikea Adel base doors combined with the Lidingo glass wall unit doors have worked well in this relatively spacious (for a rental!) kitchen. There were a few limitations such as the need to shoe-horn into the kitchen area the existing large fridge freezer (conveniently located in the living room?!), plus a washing machine and tumble drier neither of which were integrated (i.e. ugly fronts!) and also the boiler was in a fixed position behind the door. I opted to put the sink off to the left as opposed to directly underneath the window to provide more work surface between it and the hob, aesthetically the sink and tap would have looked better under the window but practicalities are more important in rental properties than it just looking good.

A vinyl floor was specified and this limestone style kept the room light and airy and cost under £50 fitted.
