Sometimes working with a client is an absolute dream and having working with owners Siân and Steve from the Didsbury Flower Lounge for several weeks this Autumn, I can totally understand why they are spoken so highly of by brides, contemporarys and their industry. From initial meetings through to talks about dreams for the shop redesign, communication was friendly, clear and detailed.
Their calm acceptance of the chaos of destructive and disruptive building works and the fact that nothing, literally nothing, seemed to phase them spoke volumes to me about how they must coordinate and deal with the mania of multiple weddings – I’m utterly convinced that Team DFL can deal with anything thrown at them.
Reading the Flower Lounge’s blog on owner Siân’s thoughts about the transformation carried out has made me all warm and fuzzy inside, it’s so SO fantastic when a client feels that their dreams have come true:
After a couple of weeks of upheaval, it was a delight to see the finished article captured on camera – I think it finally hit home that I have the shop of my dreams!
This shelving style was all over my Pinterest feed and has honestly become one of my favourite elements of the shop. That, and my new marble-effect counter top – it’s gorgeous! Such a fab surface to work on – I loved running our mini demos from it during our preview evening and more recently throughout our workshops.
The images taken by photographer extraordinaire Jonny Draper are fabulous. I wish every job we do could be adorned with the most beautiful flowers and shot by talented professionals!
I can’t wait to show you the different areas we transformed, but rather than just put them all in one blog post of images, I thought I’d spilt them down so there’s some advice for all our lovely Moregeous readers too. There’s a post going live on Saturday about the large format porcelain we used to create the amazing desktop area Siân mentions above, and how you can use this product.
Also coming up will be how to use cladding and moulding to create a glamorous heritage look, adding storage in unexpected places, being bold with wallpaper and going high with shelving, alluded to below…
I’ve always wanted a modern, welcoming and professional space for meeting with clients and brides-to-be. The use of divine Peppermint wallpaper and clever shelving has made the space so incredible that I keep having to pinch myself that it’s mine!
Some of you might have already seen the basement cloakroom transformation here, have a nosey if not.
Thank you so much Flower Lounge, for choosing us to help make your dreams come true, and for taking the time to write such lovely words about the transformation in your precious store.
We hope the space gives your customers the WOW feeling too! xx
